Gifts and Memorials
A gift has been given to the Restoration Fund by Al and Carolyn Middleton in honor of their daughter and her family, Joel and Melissa Houghton and their children, Will, Leah and Sam.
Ladies Circle Meeting
The Faith/Friendship Circle will meet on Monday, February 13th at 10:30 a.m.
Author in House
Our own Mollie Waters will be a published author soon. Her short story, “Brownie for a Day,” will be published in a forthcoming issue of the online magazine, Southern Women’s Review. We are super proud of our author in house! Congratulations, Mollie, for your success and literary accomplishments.
Good Samaritan Sightings
This month, our Good Samaritan is Megan Boswell. Megan was spotted one Saturday training Jess Causey to be an acolyte. We would like to thank Megan for going the extra mile to lend a helping hand.
Confirmation Classes
We want to begin planning for the Confirmation Classes to be held during the Lenten Season for those young people from the 5th-6th grade and up who wish to join the church. Please get the names of those young people interested to Pastor Dean as soon as possible, or you may call the church office.
Lost & Found
We have several dishes that have been left in the kitchen. If you are missing any items, please come by the church to see if these belong to you.
Relay for Life
It’s time to start gearing up for the 2012 Relay for Life. We will have a meeting this coming Sunday, February 5th, immediately following the Morning Worship Service. Anyone interested is invited to join us. Please call Sherry Henson if you have any questions.
Men’s Prayer Breakfast
Men’s Breakfast will meet on Sunday, February 5th at 8:00 a.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. All men are invited to attend
Ash Wednesday Service
On Wednesday, February 22nd at 6:00 p.m., we will observe Ash Wednesday with a Service of Ashes. We hope all of you will plan to be here as we begin this season of Lent with this meaningful service.
Palm Sunday Cantata
The Chancel Choir along with several other singers from area churches will be presenting the Easter Cantata, “The Centurion,” on Palm Sunday evening, April 1st at 6:00 p.m. The cantata dramatically presents the events of the crucifixion and resurrection from the perspective of the Centurion, a Roman guard, who took part in the crucifixion of Jesus. The part of the Centurion will be sung by Brad Jones. Rev. Joe Lisenby will sing the part of Pilate, and Tricia Ballew will sing the part of Claudia, Pilate’s wife. We hope you will make plans now to attend this special musical presentation as part of your Lenten observance. You are sure to be blessed.

Community Lenten Service
The Ministerial Association is sponsoring special noon time Lenten services each Wednesday during Lent at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The services will feature different clergy bringing the messages. Lunch is served afterward. The services will not be long, and you’re invited to come as you are. Let’s all take advantage of this good opportunity.
